Northern Trust Corp. is rockin’ on with our bailout money, hosting extravagant parties in Los Angeles that featured private performances by Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago and Sheryl Crow.

I don’t know what songs the artists played for the Chicago-based company’s guests. But there’s nothing like hundreds of well-heeled bank clients and employees listening to the anthems of the little people:
Like Earth Wind & Fire in “Money tight.”
“Money tight don’t feel right
Richest man has no fight alone
Material things don’t matter
If your heart don’t get that patter in your bones
Money tight with me
You love’s all I need.”
Or Crow in “Can’t Cry Anymore.”
“Money comes in
But the fact is
There’s not enough to
Pay my taxes
And I can’t cry anymore.”
Or Chicago in “I don’t want your money.”
“I don’t want your money
It don’t mean a thing
I don’t need no fancy clothes
Or a diamond ring
I don’t have to ride in style
In your limousine
I don’t want no trouble
Tax or Uncle Sam
All I want is you
I want to be your natural man.”
