Chaz Repak is operations editor at Dow Jones Newswires, responsible for administering the operating budget, and for working with the managing editor and regional senior editors on human reseources, finance, facilities and other management and administrative issues. A 17-year Dow Jones veteran, he worked in Singapore from 1997 to 2003. During the first three years, he worked on coverage of the Asian financial crisis and its aftermath. For the latter three years, he supervised Newswires’ 20 Asia-Pacific bureaus as regional operations editor.
Before the Singapore posting, Chaz covered corporate spot news in New York from 1992. A copy editor at heart, Chaz penned the Newswires’ most recent stylebook, in 1999.
He began his journalism career in 1991 at Worrall Community Newspapers in Union, N.J., where he also wrote that organization’s first stylebook.
Born in Bloomfield, N.J., Chaz earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Virginia. He is married with two sons. An avid, if mediocre, triathlete, marathoner and participant in other endurance events, he completed the Ironman Florida triathlon in November 2008. He follows the New York Yankees obsessively.
