Steve’s Bio

I’ve been contributing to the Market Talk column for Dow Jones Newswires since June 2008 and originally began my Dow Jones career on Aug. 6, 2007, first as a reporting assistant on the equities desk and then briefly as a copyreader on the rewrite desk. It was definitely an interesting time to get into the world of financial journalism. I remember during my first week of work, my boss told me to stop everything I was doing, Google the phrase “subprime mortgages,” and learn everything I could about them. Of course the rest is history.

Prior to Dow Jones, I worked as a news assistant on the sports desk for The News Journal in Wilmington, Del., and also interned at The Long Island Press.

I graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in history and journalism. I currently live in Hoboken, N.J., but was born and raised on Long Island. So yes, all those bridge and tunnel stereotypes – I’ve got them both covered.
